Unit Trip Testing
Responsible for all aspects from design review/modification to final testing of all unit trip circuits and software.Startup Testing Engineer
Review existing plant design, field verify design integrity, write and conduct final startup test procedures.PROJECT: DCS Upgrade Project• Responsible for conducting unit trip testing in areas where the DCS upgrade created changes in the original plant hardwire trip scheme. This involved finding all problems and resolving these specific issues towards completion of a successful Trip Test.
PROJECT: Hydro Power Plant Refurbishment & Upgrade Project• Designed and conducted all of the unit trip tests. This site used two lockout relays, normal and emergency (86N & 86E). Designed the philosophy and structure of the trip test based on using the updated electrical schematics & worked thru each sub-sys.
PROJECT: Total Unit Trip Testing Project for a Large Generation Site• Completely reviewed all relative site documentation including all electrical schematics, compared this review to the field installation, corrected through repair or replacement all deficiencies, and wrote and conducted final boiler trip test.
• Conducted final turbine trip test, corrected or repaired all deficiencies, and presented an operating system in addition to the final test report.
• Repaired and restored the DC Ground Detection system so that it can be used to detect a ground while restoration work proceeded.
